Happy Halloween!!!

Madison had a big day today. There was a party at daycare. Those daycare gals took great delight in feeding the kids all those sugared treats and then sending them home!! Madison looked so cute this morning.

Am I cute or what????

This is Madison's "good witch" costume that she wore to trick or treat tonight. It didn't take long at all for her to figure out that all she had to do was walk up to the door and people would give her candy. She really didn't want to come home when we finally did.

This is Morgan's new friend. Madison would have no part of him......

This is the same yard. These people really get into Halloween. I brought Morgan here several years ago as well. They have hot dogs, punch, and lots of neat Halloween stuff in their front yard.
"Miss" Carolyn was just one of many of my friends that Madison made herself at home for picking out candy......
Madison was most interested in this lady's puppy......the puppy was dressed up too......
This "witch" did my hair for many years........no comment.......
We were a little past regular bedtime getting home but after a quick meal, a quick bath, and a piece of gum, Madison was ready to call it a day.

Carving a Jack O Lantern

We had a very productive Saturday cleaning out the garage. Greg found a box with old cell phones in it and Madison claimed one. She has not been without it since. Even while carving the pumpkin, she was talking to "someone".
Papa got the honors of using the knife. He made a comment to Madison at this point that he was going to get a blindfold for her to cover her eyes with and then let her stick her hand inside the pumpkin. I have no idea what part of this idea she didn't like, but she was NOT happy about it at all......
A girl has got to be dressed properly when assisting to carve the pumpkin....
Madison got over being upset and helped Papa clean out the inside of the pumpkin.
"Let me take his lid off"......
The finished product.....Madison thought their smiles were alike.....
The poor kitty cat, she has to endure so much.....
After the carving, it was time for a bath. Then it was time for an impromptu dance recital.
I could hardly take pictures for laughing.

Fall

We finally got some fall weather here. It has been really nice. We had to break out the long pants and jackets.

I walked down the street earlier tonight to take some pictures. I really waited too long. I wanted a little more light but these came out ok.

I spotted my neighbor's persimmons last week. Not as much light as I wanted but will try again tomorrow.

The moon was really large and pretty tonight on its way up.

Sunday Fun

This is not brain surgery. Madison pulled her hair tie from her hair and Brandon was trying to put it back.
My mom has these Halloween cutouts in her yard. Madison was posing with them today.

We had a dress rehearsal of Madison's Halloween costume today. All I can say is that it is really, really cute. So cute, in fact, that we had exactly the issue that I KNEW we would have. She didn't want to take it off after she had tried it on. Instead of fighting with her, I just told her that she had to stay in her room until she was ready to take it off so that she wouldn't tear it up. She played quietly in her room for about 30 minutes, then decided that she wanted the costume off. No drama.

Visiting the Zoo in Waco

My sister and family took Madison to the zoo, McDonalds, and basically spoiled her. She had a great time!!
Katie looks as though she isn't too thrilled about sitting in front of the leopard.
Princess Who Runs The Place in her teepee
This slide went down through the middle of the otter habitat.
I bet Madison asked if this was the Baylor Bear......

Pumpkins

Since the peaches are gone, the Wild Boar Farm Market gets a huge shipment of pumpkins for fall. These are just a few that were left.
The market will close in a couple of weeks once everything is sold. It will not reopen until next spring.

Greg and Susan checking out the last of the "punkins"....
These were called "Big Boys" and sold for $30. They were really large and if you will notice, they were a much darker shade of orange.

Fredericksburg TX

Greg and I made a quick trip to Fredericksburg on the motorcycle this past weekend. We went to visit our friends that have the fruit market/peach orchard and join them at a fish fry for the volunteer fire department in Stonewall, TX. I took the camera to the fish fry but didn't take any pictures because I was embarassed. I ate SO MUCH FISH!! It was really, really good and lots of fun. The weather was so nice. We just needed a light jacket when we were riding. Took these pictures on a quick ride on Saturday afternoon. The countryside was really pretty.
I love windmills and we have many in Texas to enjoy.

My sister watched Madison for us while we were gone. I am not sure who had the most fun, Madison or Brenda. Thanks sis!!

Pre Halloween

Madison's mom sent her some Halloween clothes. After bath tonight, she had a fashion show for us. And, of course, she wanted to sleep in them.....

Colorado Beats Baylor

Went to the Baylor game tonight. It was not pretty. Baylor forgot to show up. But we had a good time anyway. It was a nice night for a college football game.
Madison showing me her new Baylor Bear t-shirt.........

We learned at the last game that wearing flip flops is not a good idea. Tonight we both wore our tennis shoes. Madison walked from the car to the stadium, and then back again when we left the game. It was quite a hike and was much easier on me that way.

Madison was all hyped up to get her picture taken with the Baylor Bear. Of course, that was BEFORE she saw him. He had just been over to us to give high 5's and she wanted no part of it. Even though he is moving away from us, she is still unhappy.

It was another fun night. Especially when we got home and Madison went straight to sleep.
