Garden Update

Greg's garden looks really nice. Got cages for the tomatoes this weekend. Many blooms but no sign of any "ma-ters" yet. The lettuce should be ready to at least get enough for a small salad by late in the week. The onions from seed are a little slow getting started, but the carrots are looking very healthy.

Everyone have a great week!!! Love to all, pk

Remodeling Update

Got a lot done this weekend. Greg closed in the end of the patio and did an absolutely GREAT job!!!! (And doesn't my husband have cute legs? White, but cute.....) Still need to install lights and ceiling fans, a stereo and speakers. We are even thinking about hanging a small tv out there as well. We go back to work on Mondays to rest from the busy weekends!!!

Successful Recipe

I brought a really good recipe home from the weekend in Hunt. It is a Rueben Loaf. I made it on Saturday and it turned out really nice, especially for the first time. My oldest son likes to put pictures of his "food" on his blog so I am trying to stay up with him........

Empty Nest

I snuck out to take another picture of the baby bluebirds and to my surprise, they were gone. They flew the nest!! The internet says it only takes 14 days from hatching until they leave so I guess I was just a little late.......all that is left is the last egg that never hatched........

Tipsy

Tipsy finally got a new summer haircut!! Know she must feel much better. She smells better, that is for sure. She isn't usually happy about the stupid bow in her hair. She will manage to lose it within a couple of days.

Bluebird Family

The bluebird parents have been very busy, catching crickets to feed their growing babies. When I moved closer for pictures, the wary birds just watched me from afar. They wouldn't go to the nest to feed.

Girls Weekend in Hunt, Texas

Had a fun weekend in Hunt, Texas with some friends, one of which was turning 50. The house was along the banks of the Guadalupe River in the Hill Country. We ate some wonderful meals, drank lots of wine and champagne, talked about life/men, and laughed more than I can remember doing in a long time. Happy Birthday, Susan!!

More snowy pictures.....

Snow at Easter????

It has been snowing here for just over an hour. Greg and I went out to cover his veggie beds with some old sheets. Hopefully they won't get cold burned too badly. I keep running outside to take pictures thinking that it is snowing as hard as it is going to. But every time I look back out, it seems to be coming down thicker and thicker and I go back out and take more pictures. Note the hammock in the middle picture. Morgan and I were out there enjoying it earlier this week on a much warmer day!! Egg hunting tomorrow should be quick!!

Remodel Update

Greg brought a trailer home today and we loaded the wood and shingles to haul off, stacking the big stuff to remove another day. We then got up on the roof to replace plastic that is to cover the exposed places. Morgan and I were very glad when we were allowed to come inside. It is windy and cold today, with a 50% chance of rain tomorrow. This cool Easter spell is also bringing the chance of "wintry mix" on Sunday with a low of 39 degrees!! That will make for some very quick egg hunting!!
And yes, Lorie, we were able to move the next day. Not very fast and with a lot of groaning but we did move!!
