Baylor Homecoming Parade 2010

Greg didn't have any athletic officiating commitment today--YAHOO--so he was able to join us. He and Jonathan were enjoying a kolache and donut holes while we were waiting on the parade to begin.
Baylor University has the largest collegiate parade in the nation.
Jonathan didn't know quite what to think about the people in the parade throwing candy to us. But he did know what to do with this little blue football that someone gave him...."foooo-ball"...
Papa walked him out to touch the helium football balloon.
Why is it so hard to get a 2 year old to cooperate for a picture? Here we have a "fish face"........and here he looks like he realizes that he is going to mess up my picture...and is enjoying it!!!

This morning.....

When I took the trash to the road this morning, I saw the golden sunlight on the grass in the lot next door. I love this grass, have no idea what it is. And at this time of year it is tall and catches the light really nice. I ran in and got the camera.
The first shot is probably closest to what I had in mind. I just keep trying and trying when I see the early or late light on it.....
Oh well, there is always tomorrow......

More from the nestboxes....

The parakeet babies grow so fast, and they are kinda ugly, only a mother could love them. These two have a mother that is turquoise and a daddy that is light green. Too early to tell what color these babies will be.....
Man, this momma has her hands full!! Apparently, her eggs have hatched at different times. She takes motherhood to a whole new level, and she is nearly always in the nestbox with her babies. Four babies appear to be fairly close in age. Then you can see the two pink naked ones at the bottom of the picture, one has just the beginnings of feathers and the other has none so assume that those two are different ages as well. Once they get all these babies out, I will be taking the nestboxes out until next spring.....
