Robinson Graduation

Robinson High School graduation was Wednesday night.
Maria and Lucas
Katie and Nino

Congratulations graduates!!

Swallows

Remember our little mud nest built around the horseshoe?
Looking into a mirror, here are the babies when they were only a couple of days old.
Here they are with the mom.
Here they are today. The parent birds are really trying to get them to try to fly. And the cat is really hoping that they aren't too successful......
They look mad, don't they?

Fredericksburg, Texas

Greg found himself without a softball game on Saturday so we decided to take advantage of it and go for a short trip. We headed to Fredericksburg, and the Wild Boar Farm again, to visit with our friends, the Bacons. The weather was quite warm (not raining like last year) and we saw many bikes along the way. We left on Friday after work.
Saturday morning, we headed out in search of adventure. First we went to Luckenbach. Not much there but a post office, dance hall, a few other buildings.
We had lunch in town at a local brewery/restaurant. Later, we found ourselves at Enchanted Rock State Park. This is the "rock".
Cactus flower
Greg trying to move a "rock"....
The Bacons work very hard at their peach orchard/store. We were all able to go to dinner Saturday night, where we had Mexican food and a few margaritas. Upon our return home, we were treated to homemade peach cobbler with homemade peach ice cream. YUM!!!
Sunday morning, we went out to visit the veggie garden. LOTS of veggies about to start producing and to be sold at the Wild Boar store......
The girls on the Gator and Daniel......

We had a great visit and a wonderful time. We arrived back in Robinson late afternoon on Sunday, having come home by way of the back roads in the country.

Prom Time

Katie and Lucas both went to the Robinson prom. Their mom wanted a picture of them together.Maria and Lucas
Katie and Tyler
This is what it looked like on our "river walk". You would think there was nowhere else in Waco to take pictures. Brandon was not happy that as the official Katie and Lucas Event Photographer that he might have to wait in line to get a pic, so he didn't. We found other places that were much better.
So glad to see everyone wearing colors, and different styles. Unlike one year when it seemed everyone was in black, making them look like clones.
Brandon got some really nice pics of the day. Most likely he will post a few on his blog.

There's always one in the group....well, in this case two....

I almost forgot to include a picture of these guys. They were dateless (I can't imagine why) and where were their mothers when they were getting dressed??? I didn't know they made orange and baby blue shoes.......

Caged...

We got wire on the bird aviary on Sunday evening and for now, it is a perfect place for the kittens to stay. All they want to do is try to escape, though. I had to find the areas where they were getting out. Bringing two kittens to work with me on Friday for gals that I work with. I listed the rest on Craig's List and have received several calls. It has been suggested that whichever ones are remaining by the weekend, take to the WalMart parking lot in a box marked "free kittens" and they will be gone quickly. I might give it a try....

Almost There

Jeremy informed me yesterday that my laptop is on its way to being up and running again. The hard drive came in and he is doing the final "tweaking". Yahoo!! Thanks Jeremy!!

I'm Bringing Dinner.....

Sunday evening, I heard the cat meowing at the back door. I figured she just wanted in to see her kittens. Well, she had other things in mind. This is what I saw when I looked out the door.

"C'mon, let me in. Dinner is getting cold....."

She brought two more rats to the house last night, same thing, her standing at the door wanting in with them. She has a nice idea but just doesn't realize that the kittens are too young to deal with any food that doesn't come from a bag. I will give her credit for being a good provider. And hopefully trying to teach her kittens how to be good mousers.

Happy Birthday sister Lorie!!

Lorie, you have only yourself to blame for this "blast from the past" picture.....

Have a blessed birthday!!

Spa at Canyon Oaks

This is one of the things I got for Mother's Day yesterday!! I have only seen this place whenever we would drive by, wondering what went on in there, knowing I couldn't afford to ever go.
What a great gift!! It was from Greg, Samantha/Brandon, and Marci/Jeremy. I haven't read the small print yet to see exactly what is included but I KNOW it is gonna be good and I will enjoy it immensely. Especially if it has anything to do with a massage......
I can hardly wait!!

Crawford Wedding

This has been the talk of the area for the past several months, most especially the past week. Jenna's wedding was held tonight on the President's ranch in Crawford, a small community outside of Waco. Hotels have been booked full for weeks, television stations have converged on the area, fighter jets pass overhead every thirty minutes or so, and Secret Service, as well as local law enforcement, are all on alert. The wedding was to be held outside and it was a rain free, but slightly warm evening. We weren't invited.......oh well.......

Robinson Varsity Softball Team Advances

The Robinson Varsity Softball team played best two out of three games with Lorena, and won today. They advance to the regional semifinals this next week. Way to go Rockettes!!

Ladie's Night at Church

Last night, the ladies from church had a salad and dessert get-together.

The "little" ladies were first in the food line....

Our speaker was Joy Elliott, a gorgeous, vivacious, two time breast cancer/double mastectomy survivor, with two small girls and a husband that was a kicker for the Dallas Cowboys. She spoke to us about the types of "seeds" we should sow. She is awesome.

Our two mothers-to-be, Sarah and Marci.

Sick Laptop

I am having to secretly post from my work computer. My laptop is quite sick. Jeremy is working on it now. His blog shows how he has dismantled it and saved ME by saving the data that was on the hard drive. I have found I am quite lost without my laptop. Greg doesn't share his very well. Thanks so much, Jeremy, for putting it first on your "to do" list. I owe you dinner, or maybe all those baby clothes that I bought on sale this week at Toysrus will count, or at the least a few nights of free babysitting once Fritz arrives..........

New Links

A couple of my coworkers have started blogs and were complaining that no one was reading them. I told them I would add their links on our blog.

Komen Race for the Cure

This morning was the Race for the Cure. Kit (a young coworker who is the age of Brandon) and I decided this past week that we would walk. The morning dawned very cool and very windy. But lots of fun nonetheless.
This was a group doing aerobics to get everyone warmed up before the race.
A flamboyant participant......
The same participant and a couple of her friends.....
Two non-flamboyant participants......our pink scarves were provided courtesy of Ford Motor.

There were a LOT of people.
We were waiting for things to clear out a bit before we started the walk. No use running over these poor people on our way to the front of the pack.....teehee.....

Our 3 miles is almost done. Crossing this bridge meant we only had a little way to go. It was great fun and for a great cause!!

Please support your Komen Race for the Cure wherever you may live.

Happy Birthday nephew Christopher!!

Have a totally awesome day!! No more bicycle tricks, ok?
Photo snagged from Lorie's blog.
