Charley's mom has been on call and last weekend they had someone come visit so weren't able to come see us. It had been two weeks and I was needing a mental health day today to see Charley.

We're gettin' stormed.....
I raced the black cloud to work this morning. The umbrella was in the trunk and I certainly didn't want to have to try to get it out in the midst of a downpour. But I made it to work before it started. I think I have explained before that my second floor office window overlooks this biker bar called Fred & Wallys. Since it is across the street, it is hard to get pictures without it being in the shot. How neat. You can see the reflection of my office in the window and see the flowers that I got last week that are sitting on my desk.
It was so dark that all the lights came on downtown as if it were nighttime. It is so creepy when it does that. (FYI - The ALICO is the tallest building in the city.)

Windy Days
Jonathan spent some time with us Friday evening. He and Papa were sitting outside after Papa got home from his softball game.
No, Jonathan does not have his hair cut in a mohawk.....it just appears that way. The wind has been blowing so hard here these days. It isn't much fun to be outside.
I got this on Craig's List. I didn't even realize at the time that it has battery power. Must get some and see how well it works. Jonathan didn't look too happy here but he liked me to push him back and forth on the patio.

Administrative Professionals Day
Yesterday was Administrative Professionals Day, which I guess includes me. At one time it was known as Secretary's Day but I guess that was deemed not PC. Anyway, my people have been really great to me and it has been an all week thing. Monday I got flowers, a balloon, a card, and we had donuts. Tuesday, I got a gift card from Texas Roadhouse. Yesterday, we had kolaches with our coffee and in the afternoon, my supervisor from Austin had a dozen gourmet cookies delivered to me!!! I feel so special!!!

Brandon had some dental work done this past week and I got to spend some time with Charley. While dad was sleeping it off, Charley and I had a photo session.

Billy Bob's Texas
After leaving the gardens, we stopped at Pappasitos. The food was wonderful!!
Friday evening, we went to Billy Bob's, the world's largest dance hall. Neither of us had ever been so it was quite fun. The Bellamy Brothers were in concert. We danced and danced.
Downtown Fort WorthThe next morning, we ate breakfast at the hotel and headed home.

Botanical Gardens continued....
Fort Worth Botanical Gardens
We got to Fort Worth about noon yesterday, checked in to the hotel, and looked for something to see. Greg was nice enough to humor me on his birthday by taking me to the botanical gardens. I really enjoyed it. I tried to get him to just leave me there for a week or so but he wouldn't have had anyone to dance with that night so he said no. It was so humid inside the greenhouse that there was a moisture cloud.

Happy Birthday Greg!!
Happy Birthday, honey!! Love you!!
Since Greg's birthday fell on Good Friday, it just so happened that we were both off from work (school was out and the Judge at my office closed the place down with an order) and there were no softball games, so I planned us a quick overnight trip to Fort Worth to celebrate Greg's special day. Will post more about that later.

Bluebonnets
Jonathan stayed with me last night. We visited his great grandmother, then went to look for some bluebonnets. There is a story behind this. At this time of year, every year, the boys will tell you that I insisted on bluebonnet pictures. Even once they got to be teenagers. There was lots of moaning and groaning at that point. So, Jonathan got the same treatment. The bluebonnets are not near as plentiful or pretty as they have been in past years because we had such a dry winter. But there are a few spots that are nice.
