Pictures of Camdyn.......

Birthdays....

Camdyn Grace Kelly made her appearance this morning, weighing 7 lbs 9 oz, changing everyone's best laid plans for her to be born this Wednesday. Babies just have a way of getting here when they want to.....all is well, we will head out to see her later this evening and get some pictures.

And Camdyn made her appearance on my dad's birthday. I tried to have Brandon on my dad's birthday but it didn't work. Well, I take that back. The castor oil DID work, but it didn't cause Brandon to be born. He came on his own the next week!!! Happy Birthday, Daddy....love and miss you!!!

McGregor Founder's Day

Someone posted on Facebook that they were at the Founder's Day celebration so we decided to head out and see what was going on. Most things were closed up since we went late in the day, a couple of stages had bands playing, but we did have some awesome chicken fried steak at the restaurant in McGregor.
While we were eating, Madison wanted me to take her picture. Last week, we hit the $2 jewelry tables at Spice. She was sporting her new necklace, earrings, and headband....

It had been a long day, didn't take her long to fall asleep once she got a bath and a snack.

Saturday Events

Jonathan's folks went out of town for a few days and he has stayed with us, and we picked Madison up mid morning to spend the night. For the first time in a long time, Greg didn't have any games today. But that didn't mean we weren't going to a ballfield. First, we went to watch one of Greg's students play football but the game wasn't where the young man said it was. So then we went to watch some of his girls play softball,. There was a playground next door. Madison and Jonathan had a fun time swinging and playing.
There were times when Jonathan's eyes were pretty big, Papa was swinging him high, or so Jonathan said!!

And of course, Papa had to try out the swings, too!! A trip to Burger King for lunch, dropped Jonathan off with his parents, and now me and Madison are watching a Barbie movie.....I suggested a nap but she informed me that she didn't take naps....drat....

Beautiful flowers....

I got a dozen roses at the office today from my awesome husband. Not sure why he felt the urge to send them but they are truly beautiful!!
And he really likes to mess with the security guards in our building. He knows that they are nosey and that they look at everything that comes in.....so I guess he just couldn't resist doing this to make them wonder.....

Backpacking in Colorado--5 days/4 nights

We are just away from the truck and everything starts with a smile. At this point, I just did not quite know what I had gotten myself in to.
When we got here they all looked at me funny when I made a comment about the small hill we had just walked up. It was an ant mound compared to a few days later. Little did I know.....

It was just oh so beautiful. Everywhere it was as if we were in God's backyard. It was so easy to be close to Him because He was always just right there all around us.

Yes, I am leaning forward. It was one of the most physically challenging things I have ever done.
Not to mention, when your stomach is bigger around than your hips, it is hard for your pack to sit and stay on your hips. It is a constant adjustment keeping it from all sitting totally on your shoulders.

We are within 100 yards of Half Moon Pass and yes, that is snow we had just walked past. Oh yes, this was the third week in July at 12,700 feet. The creeks were very cold being fed by the snow.

After we crossed the pass we went to Wheeler Geological area. It was magnificent. We got to our camp site and it hailed on us. It was awesome.

We are going back over the pass the next day. As if the climb up and the descent down was not hard enough, we got off trail and blazed our own short---long cut through the wilderness. It ended up being a little unsettling before it was over. But it was all just awesomely beautiful!!

Barbecue chicken pizza, Greg's favorite, made from leftover chicken he smoked in our smoker. Purple onion, mozzarella cheese, store bought crust.....but it was yummy!!!

From the trip

We brought this home from a Stuckey's that we stopped at on the way back from our trip. Greg has already eaten one can of the peanuts. I had never heard of them before, much less eaten them. Apparently, Greg had. He said they were "great". I will just have to take his word
for it.....
And then we got some of the Stuckey's famous pecan logs. The one we got for us is almost gone, Greg likes it, too. Ugh, it is like really sweet divinity rolled in pecans.....our Stuckey's closed years ago, it had been a long time since I had been in one......
