Sweety
One afternoon as I drove down the driveway after work, I looked over at the bird cage and saw the parakeet, Sweety, sitting on the back of one of the doves. I walked to the cage and sure enough, Sweety was there, grooming her friend, Miss Dove, and neither seemed to have a problem with it. Today when I came home, she was there again and I was able to get the camera and take her picture.
I think this is the lone female dove that we have. I guess this is no different than letting your girlfriend brush your hair....but I am glad that the parakeet has bonded with the dove. I was concerned that she would feel lonely. Maybe she now thinks she is a dove.....

Halloween Costumes
Jonathan tried on Halloween costumes tonight. He is a monkey here. That is a banana on his head. Cute costume but he didn't like it.
Here he is a bee. Another cute costume. I see a common denominator. He doesn't like wearing things on his head.......
And a lion cub.......same reaction. I think we may have to find a costume that doesn't call for something on his head.....

Baylor Homecoming
Today dawned clear and cool. The sun was just barely coming up when we left for the parade.
I had gotten donuts, cinnamon twists, and made hot chocolate. Jonathan ate non-stop until the parade began. He was lovin' him some donut holes!!!

OH HAPPY DAY!!!
Look what came in the mail today.......MY BAYLOR LADY BEARS BASKETBALL SEASON TICKETS!!!! for two!!! The envelope was very white and nondescript, Greg already knew what it was when I got in from work. I just threw it over to the side, thought someone was trying to sell me something. I was looking at the other mail and he said hey, I want to see what is in that big white envelope....I still didn't have a clue. Until I tore into the envelope and saw the Baylor logo.......YAHOO!!!

Columbus Day
Had plans to take a motorcycle trip yesterday and today, but the rain kept that from happening. So we just worked around the house instead. Greg changed out this fan over the dining room........
Whew!!
Saturday, Mimi and Papa babysat Jonathan and Charley in Round Rock. Jonathan had a bumbo chair when he was younger and I don't think he cared for it, but he insisted on sitting in Charley's. Which was even funnier when he would try to get out of it since he would either have to lean over and fall out of it, or finally roll over and stand up with the chair stuck to him!!!
Charley is amazing!! She is dragging herself everywhere! The babyproofing has begun.....but she is still very happy to sit in her jumper. I wager it will be no time at all before she is walking. She is a tough little gal. Her daddy says she smacks her head on the tile many times a day. You can just barely see a bruise on the right side of her forehead. She is very, very vocal.....she jabbers, screeches, laughs, and hollers......she is also really very good about entertaining herself.
Thank goodness God thought it a good idea for a woman to gestate a child for 9 months, otherwise you could have this situation....a 15 month old and a 9 month old....there were times when I was very, very grateful that Papa was with me for the extra couple of hands!!

Almost done...
We are almost done with the rock on the garage. All we have left is the rock trim around the windows and wrapping around the back. We decided that we have had just about all the rock laying that we want for a while, and rather than buy more rocks for the back of the garage, we will put hardy board paneling on it. No one sees the back and it will be easier than rock, and cheaper than rock.
We finished just as it was getting dark. I could hardly wait to get the scaffolds down and start cleaning up.

Craigslist Junkie
I admit it. I need help. I am a craigslist addict. I was in Round Rock week before last to babysit Charley while Brandon went to the dentist. Since I knew I would be in the area, I had researched craigslist for Austin. Oh my. It was the greatest!! There are SO many more listings than in Waco. I had been looking for one of these climbers and found one in the little community of Liberty Hill, just outside of Georgetown, which was on my way back home. Took a little detour and picked it up, cleaned it up when I got it home, and turned Jonathan loose on it the next Friday when he came to visit.
