This garden spider has taken up residence in my wash pot outside. He eats bugs so I am gonna let him stay where he is.

Greg's youngest sister, Ashley, is terribly creative, a wonderful mother to her two girls, and very organized. Her last blog post asked for other's ideas for being organized.

Happy Birthday Brandon!!

We finally got to have a belated birthday celebration for Brandon today. Greg grilled great chicken and beef fajitas, and everyone had a fun time!!

.....this was a yummy strawberry dessert that my sister brought. I almost didn't get to it in time. I got the next to the last spoonful of it.....Got to spend time with Jonathan and Charley, too!!

Jonathan's haircut and new shoes

Jonathan got his second haircut on Saturday, he took his dad with him. Then he came by to visit with Mimi and Papa.

He has started wearing shoes since he is walking more and more. They are SO cute!! I LOVE little shoes......

We took his shoes off while he was in the house and he was trying to put them back on by himself.

Gittin' some culture.....

Have tickets to go to the Waco Civic Theatre tonight to see this with a co-worker and her husband. Another co-worker has a part in the production so it should be quite fun. All I know is I am glad I wasn't planning to go to a high school football game tonight. It has drizzled all day and started raining hard here at about 4:00 PM, and continues. Not a night that I want to sit outside. Greg is officiating a game in Crawford. At least they are heading over to try to call it. The rain won't be the issue to delay the game, lightning will. And yes, I am most grateful for the much needed rain!!! I am NOT complaining!!

This is my new bird. A young lady on Craigslist was giving her away and I told her if she couldn't find anyone else to take her, I would. I picked her up this afternoon on my way home from work. Her name is Sweety. She and the doves were getting acquainted when I came inside.

Marvin's Marvelous Pickled Okra

My good friend, Susan, from Fredericksburg sent me this picture. They have a peach orchard/veggie/fruit market. They used my dear sweet dad's pickled okra recipe for the abundance of okra that they grew. It looks very pretty in the jars, and they even put dad's name on the labels!! She said she would save me some jars and hopefully we can get together with them sometime this fall so we can have a taste. My dad would be so thrilled!!

Charley's Baptism

Charley's baptism was this afternoon. She looked so pretty in the dress her mommy wore for her own baptism.

We had the best time. She isn't much of a "napper", which I know frustrates her daddy, but we had a great time anyway!!

This is just the most wonderful picture. It is large, about a 16x24 and mounted on canvas. I LOVE it......they are trying to figure out where to hang it.....I think I have a wall at my house!!!!

Fruitful Friday

Took the day off today to do some things around the house, mostly to assist Greg with trying to get the rock on the garage. We started early and finished about 1:30.

The front is done and all of the north end. I did the clean up after Greg got done. And believe me, there was a lot to clean up!! All that is left to do is a small part of the other end and a little bit on the back.

Jonathan came over tonight while his dad took his mom to dinner for her birthday. After dinner when it had cooled off a bit, Papa took him for a ride in the wagon.

I finally had to go out and get Jonathan so I could bring him inside for his bath. Then he took his bottle and he was out like a light!!
