Blessed rain.....

The rain started Friday evening, and continued most of the day on Saturday.
It rained.....
and rained......
.....and rained.....
.....and rained some more.....
...til it filled all my water containers.......
I think we got almost three much needed inches of rain. Not to mention the beautiful cool weather that followed. It is an absolutely perfect day today.....and we are stuck inside this office!!!

Random plants

A cactus that Greg came bringing in from a job he went out to bid that was across from a cemetery. He found the cactus in the ditch and brought it home, it was much smaller and not in a pot, but just as spiney as it is here. It has really grown and has decided to bloom.
The pink in the picture appears to be a seed pod but there were no flowers first. Not sure what is going on here.
I won this lovely flower pot at bunko last week. Thank goodness. I haven't bought any blooming plants this year.
When we went walking after the rain on Saturday, we saw this tree and I wasn't sure what it was. Upon closer inspection, it appears to be an apple tree. Didn't know that they would grow in our area.

Awards Night

Last night was awards night at the school. Morgan got certificates for all A's all year and top 10% of her class, plus she received an academic awards blanket.
Congrats, Morgan!! Good job!!

More pics from Mother's Day

Charley was in a good humor on Sunday. She was just "hanging out" with her Aunt Marci.
Jonathan enjoyed the swing. He was trying so hard not to go to sleep.
The spectators seemed to enjoy our new patio chairs.
Jonathan rode in his new wagon at our house again. Saturday, me and Papa had both taken turns pulling him around in the yard, until Papa finally hooked the wagon to the riding mower. That was much easier.
Look at those teeth. He has four now.

More Prom Photos

Katie and her date at the Arboretum.
Lucas and Maria at the suspension bridge.
It is so crazy here. You would think that the river and the suspension bridge was the only place in town where prom pictures can be taken. When we arrived on Saturday at about 4ish for Morgan's pictures, there were only about three other couples there and a handful of people just hanging out at the park. By the time we left an hour or so later, the crowd had arrived.

Great Mother's Day Gift!!!

What a great surprise!! Charley/Samantha/Brandon and Jonathan/Marci/Jeremy got me two tickets to Baylor Women's home basketball games for next season!! I am so excited!!! Thanks guys!! What a great gift! I can hardly wait!!
Love you all bunches!!

Prom Time

Saturday was prom night for Robinson. It was late afternoon by the time the kids were ready to leave for dinner. We meandered to the river for pictures. I got to try my hand at taking "serious" pictures for the first time since my photography class. Shane and Morgan were very spontaneous and all smiles, even though it was very, very warm outside.

Dad even got in a shot....
....and Dustin....

The kids said they had a lot of fun, danced a lot and had a great time!!

Things that make you go hmmmmmm......

A couple of random things from our motorcycle ride on Saturday. We went to Zabcikville and picked up sausage again at Green's Sausage House. I couldn't resist buying this bag of peanut brittle. It is quite a different flavor, to say the least. Very subtle, the heat starts in the back of the throat. In Texas, we will put jalapeno in any recipe, I guess.
This gave us quite a chuckle. We turned the bike around so I could get a picture. It appears that these three guys are playing dominoes or cards or something sitting at the table on the roof of the garage. Go figure.....

Rat Tail Cactus

I have had this cactus for more years that I can remember. It gets rather neglected, and gets left out in the cold during the winter but most years, it is very generous with its many red blossoms!!!

Balloons

A couple of weeks ago, there were several days when we were greeted with hot air balloons in the area. This was from the back patio but they sort of followed me toward work.

Charley at 3-3/4 months

Charley's mom has been on call and last weekend they had someone come visit so weren't able to come see us. It had been two weeks and I was needing a mental health day today to see Charley.
Not sure what this look is about.
It is so hard to get a good picture when you are the photographer AND the smile maker.
Charley likes to stick her tongue out. She is holding her head up really well now.
Brandon took the dogs to the groomers while I watched Charley. We all had a good visit and I got home in time to go to dinner with some friends.

We're gettin' stormed.....

I raced the black cloud to work this morning. The umbrella was in the trunk and I certainly didn't want to have to try to get it out in the midst of a downpour. But I made it to work before it started. I think I have explained before that my second floor office window overlooks this biker bar called Fred & Wallys. Since it is across the street, it is hard to get pictures without it being in the shot. How neat. You can see the reflection of my office in the window and see the flowers that I got last week that are sitting on my desk.
It was so dark that all the lights came on downtown as if it were nighttime. It is so creepy when it does that. (FYI - The ALICO is the tallest building in the city.)
Just heard that a community that is close to us got 5 inches of rain in three hours and the school has flooded. We need rain but just a bit slower than this......

Windy Days

Jonathan spent some time with us Friday evening. He and Papa were sitting outside after Papa got home from his softball game.
No, Jonathan does not have his hair cut in a mohawk.....it just appears that way. The wind has been blowing so hard here these days. It isn't much fun to be outside.
I got this on Craig's List. I didn't even realize at the time that it has battery power. Must get some and see how well it works. Jonathan didn't look too happy here but he liked me to push him back and forth on the patio.

Administrative Professionals Day

Yesterday was Administrative Professionals Day, which I guess includes me. At one time it was known as Secretary's Day but I guess that was deemed not PC. Anyway, my people have been really great to me and it has been an all week thing. Monday I got flowers, a balloon, a card, and we had donuts. Tuesday, I got a gift card from Texas Roadhouse. Yesterday, we had kolaches with our coffee and in the afternoon, my supervisor from Austin had a dozen gourmet cookies delivered to me!!! I feel so special!!!

Jonathan

Jonathan was sitting in his highchair after dinner, watching Papa grade papers. For a while, we played "fetch what I throw off the tray".
I have a feeling I need to try to harden myself to this face. I think it will be the one that Jonathan uses when he is in trouble.......

Charley

Brandon had some dental work done this past week and I got to spend some time with Charley. While dad was sleeping it off, Charley and I had a photo session.
I tried to take some pictures by myself. It was harder than it looked. I got a few decent ones.
This was much easier to be behind the camera rather than in front of it.
I LOVE hats and headbands for girls. When I spied this in the drawer, I just had to try to get a picture!!! Brandon warned me (he finally awoke) that she wasn't going to be happy.
I must say that Charley was very patient with Mimi and her camera.
I love you, Charley!!!
