Went to movie to see Larry Crowne, then to 3 Spoons....Chocolate Desire yogurt, chocolate chips, with chocolate syrup on top.....you think I like chocolate??? It was yummy....first time there but not last time!!!

Williams, Arizona

We were in Williams a couple of times while on our vacation. It was a neat little town. And this was a really neat cafe, Cruisers Cafe 66. What drew me to it was the guy with a guitar singing outside, singing oldies, "our" kind of music......

......and then they brought out the chicken fried steak that we ordered. OMGoodness!!! It was so good. And Greg said that the mashed potatoes were the best he had ever eaten. I don't particularly care for mashed potatoes, but I have to agree, they were the best!! They had some of the potato skin mixed in with them and it was almost as if they had taken a whole boiled potato, and squashed it with lots of butter!!! Yum!!!

We made it!!

WOOHOO......got back home today from 3,300 miles to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas, and back, on the motorcycle!! Took lots of pictures, will post a link once I figure out how to do it.... :)

Charley

Charley's folks went to Seattle last week, so Nonni/Pops and Mimi/Papa got to enjoy her for a few days. Thankfully the mornings were a bit cool over the weekend, she loves to play outside. And she was fascinated by the cat for some reason. Thank goodness she is a good natured cat!! I noticed at one point Charley was using one of her legs as a handle to turn her where she wanted her....

We went through a box of toys/etc, organized some, threw some away. And we found some dress up things in the process. So silly!!

We had lots of fun. But I know she was glad to see her mom and dad when they returned!!!

Love it!!

I sent a hint out for ideas for Mother's Day....well, I didn't hint, I basically made a suggestion that the gardener in the family would like some gardening "things".....Brandon/Sam/Charley got me a strawberry pot, a larger glazed clay pot (which I have already found a begonia that will fit in it just great, just need to pot it now), a pair of titanium clippers, and a great pair of garden gloves!!

Jeremy/Marci/Jonathan got me a garden tool bag, a cushy kneeling pad, a couple of trowels, and a little rake.

The only thing that I didn't get was potting soil. So Monday after work, I stopped and bought two large bags!!! Woohoo!! Now I am all set, I bought some plants yesterday at Home Depot so this weekend, I hope to get happy "getting my hands dirty"!!! Thanks kiddos for all the great stuff!! Love you all!!

Feed store

I had to go get seed for the birds and Jonathan went with me. There were baby chicks, baby bunnies, all sorts of birds but he was pretty impressed with one of the cockatoos. It kept saying "Hello" to him.....he was amazed!!

Hmmmm....that bird is sneaking up on me!!!

Memories

Does anyone remember these peanut patties? As a kid, I remember my dad getting them a lot, I think probably at the gas station. There was a box of them as I checked out at a local IGA last week, it makes me smile, I haven't had the heart to open it yet. Makes me think of my dad.....

Sandfest 2011

Carter celebrated his first birthday today.

He wasn't quite sure why there were so many people at his house!!!

Mimi and Papa got Carter a brand new red wagon, a sock monkey jack-in-the-box, clothes, and other stuff. The jack-in-the-box was quite a hit!!!

I think Carter had a great time!! Hope he sleeps well tonight!!!

New Oven

I didn't get a 'before' picture with my almost 30 year old oven. The old one came out pretty easily. The new one took a bit of work.

I love the continuous grates across the top, that way I can just slide my pots/pans around on the top rather than pick them up, which makes it much easier since I am not supposed to be lifting a lot yet.

The controls for the stovetop and the oven are also on the top, which makes it much more kid safe for the grandkids. And it has a little oven on the top, just large enough for me and Greg, and a large oven on the bottom. Haven't had the chance to cook on it a lot yet but so far, I really like it!!
